To Travel Light
- AVOID BRINGING
Too much clothes! Let’s be honest. Most of the time, 20% of cases will be used 80% of the time. So, why not follow the 20/80 ratio by thinking about the usefulness of each garment to maximize this famous 20%? Remember that you will have to carry this baggage, travel with your destination, etc. Think of the essentials: toiletries, medicines, essential documents, books for reading …
- WELL CHOOSING YOUR LUGGAGE
The hard-shell suitcases are very strong, but the models produced are still very heavy. We recommend a cloth suitcase. At the same time lighter, it also makes it easier to store clothes. If several walking and changes of transportation are planned, it is better to abandon the idea of the wheeled suitcase; the backpack with shoulder straps adapted to protect the back is an ideal. Outdoor sports shops offer a wide variety of models.
- WHAT PRIVILEGED?
Starting from the observation that it will be impossible to fit all his wardrobe in a suitcase, a sort is required. Do you know the rule of two? For each type of clothing (pants, skirt, dress, sweater, etc.), bring two copies of each. When making your choice, choose colors that are easy to wear with everything, but also, and above all, easy to wash on site. And if you opt for a more adventurous trip, remember that comfort is vital.
- FOLDING YOUR CLOTHES
This may seem obvious, but remember it all: even folding is essential. Moreover, some savvy travelers appreciate the rolling of clothes, because it gives more space and the fabric creases less. Then just fill in the remaining holes with shoes. Lastly, do not forget to keep some free space for alcohol bottles, souvenirs and other gifts that you will buy at your destination and bring with you when you return from your trip. These not only take up space, but they can clearly increase the weight of your luggage.
- KEEP WITH YOURSELF IN THE PLANE
It is highly recommended to keep a carry-on with you in which you put all your essentials. Two advantages: this luggage lightens that of the hold (not more than 10 kg however) and, in case of loss of it, you will not be badly taken, since you will have in your possession all your important goods, once arrived to destination. Note that most airlines allow a purse or computer bag in addition to this hold bag.
