PROPER SUITCASE WHEN TRAVELING
You are at the right place at Weenies when it comes to finding your perfect suitcase. You can choose from a hard suitcase or a soft suitcase, depending on how you travel. If you travel primarily by plane, we recommend a hard case. Hard cases are firmer and easier to close, making the luggage more secure. In addition, hard cases are easier to keep clean. Are you traveling to a holiday destination by car or train? Then a soft suitcase is a good option. Because of the flexible scale, soft suitcases take up less space.
CREATE A PACKING LIST AND PREPARE EVERYTHING
Before you start packing, always make a list first. Try to think of as many things as possible that you absolutely must not forget. Think of your passport, chargers and your world plug. Then collect all the things on your list and check them neatly. You put all these things ready on your bed. Now comes the “tricky” part, you eliminate 1/3 of all these stuff. Because say yourself, often you only use half of your packed items.
START ON TIME!
Do not start packing your suitcase a few hours before departure. You can count on it that you forget a few things in the hurry. You know what they say; more haste less speed. Start at least one day before departure.
DO NOT STUFF ANY ESSENTIAL ITEMS IN YOUR SUITCASE
Never put medicines and house keys in your suitcase, suppose your suitcase does not arrive then you might have a problem. Keep your house keys and your medicines always in your hand luggage, which you always have at hand.
DIVIDE YOUR TRAVEL LUGGAGE OVER TWO SUITCASES
If you have the advantage that you are traveling with two people and can therefore take two suitcases with you, divide your and the luggage of your travel partner over two suitcases. If, after arrival at the holiday destination, a suitcase has not arrived, it is more practical for a suitcase to contain both clothes from one person and from another.
YOU TAKE YOUR SHOES FIRST
First you put your shoes in the suitcase. You do this mainly in the corners and along the edges of the suitcase. Fill the shoes with socks. You can fill up this empty space that you have left with underwear. That way your shoes stay in shape, they give firmness to your suitcase and save you space.
ROLL UP CLOTHES AND PREVENT WRINKLES
This is really the golden tip! To prevent wrinkles, it is better to put all your black clothes on the bottom of the pile. Above that, you place the lighter garments. The golden tip = your clothes neatly roll up, then it will not crease and you also have twice as much space in your suitcase. So keep your favorite dress or blouse neat during the trip and you can also take those great shoes.
MAKE CLOTHING SETS
Make sure you make sets of clothes for different activities on vacation. Take for example 1 pants with which you can combine different tops. Only take the things that you really need. If you still fall short on vacation, you have a good excuse to go shopping for a day!
TOILETRY & TRAVEL BOTTLES
That toiletry bag with all your favorite things is indispensable on vacation, but a terrible crime to take with you! Instead of standard sized bottles, take along small travel bottles. Also ideal, small bottles that you can fill with your shampoo and shower gel. Do not forget to stick an adhesive tape around the lid and an extra plastic bag to do your toiletries. This will prevent your items from leaking!
HEAVY STUFF IN HAND LUGGAGE
Do you really need those sturdy walking shoes, cool boots, thick winter coat or heavy hair dryer on holiday? Make sure you attract as much of it as possible in the plane or take it with you in your hand luggage. This saves a lot of space and weight. Also look at a lightweight suitcase.
